10 Ways to be Less Stressed

One of the best ways to live a long life is to avoid stress.  Stress is a big problem for people who have jobs, families, homes, bills and other things that they have to worry about.  Stress can lead to unhealthy habits such as smoking, drinking, eating and more.

If your life is full of stress, it is time to make sure you learn how to manage this.  Your life will never be stress free, but we need stress to be something that challenges us and not makes us to be unhappy or unhealthy.

Making some drastic changes can help to simplify your life and help you to get healthier.

Here are time things that you can do to try to get a stress-free life:

Do One Thing

One fast way to reduce stress is to focus on one thing at a time.  Make sure you clear away all the distractions and pick one thing to work on that you need to do.  If you need to write a paper, work on that.  Take out the phone and turn off your email notifications while you are working.  Doing this takes practice but if you keep working you can get better at it.

Simplify

Having a hectic schedule can cause high stress situations.  Reduce the commitments that you make to people and don’t do things that don’t benefit you.  Schedule things that are important and put space in between each thing you have to do.  Leave room for calmness and fun.

Be Active

Make sure you take time in your day to be active.  This can help to reduce stress. Make sure it is something you like to do like hiking or going for a run.

Healthy Habits

Find something to do that is healthy and do it once a month.  Find a new fruit or veggie to try or cook something healthy to eat.  Drink water instead of pop and find one healthy thing to fill your life with each month.

Calmness

Do something that allows you to calm down.  Take a bath or a nap or read something.  Do an activity that gets you moving.  Cleaning your house can help you to be calm and meditating.  Find something calming to do everyday.

Finances

Finances can stress out people. Find ways to simplify this by having auto payments taken out of your account.  Spend less time going to malls or shopping online and find things to do that don’t cost money.

Have Fun

Find something each day that is fun to do and do it, even if it is just for a few minutes.  Spend time with your kids, play a game or go for a walk.  Find something to do with your partner like watch a movie or have sex.  Make sure you have an activity that lets you have fun and laugh.

Be Creative

Being creative can help you to destress and prevent stress from coming back.  Paint, write or design something.

Declutter Your Home

Take a few minutes each day to pick up clutter from your home.  Get rid or find a better place to put things so that you have a clean and nice environment to work and relax in.

Early

Try to be places early.  This is hard because most people have families that they have to take care of before they can go anywhere but try to figure out how to get places early.  Schedule your appointments so that you won’t be stressed about being late.
